Music photography
Music photography is where I started. In 2010 I was tour managing bands across Europe and picked up a camera to document the tours. Fifteen years on, live music is still at the centre of what I do.
Live, that means gig and festival photography: the pit, bad light, three songs to get it right. My work has been recognised by the British Photography Awards, the Budapest Foto Awards, the International Photography Awards and the London International Creative Competition.
Planned, it means band portraits, promo photos, press shots and album artwork for artists who need images that look like them.
Based in North London, working across the UK and Europe. Band, artist, promoter or label? Get in touch.
Live and planned music photography
At a gig, I know how a show runs because I have run them. I know where to stand, when the moment is coming and how to stay out of the way of the crew and the crowd.
For band portraits and promo photos, that can be a studio session, a rehearsal room, a North London street or a venue before doors. Album and single artwork gets the same planning, with time to build an image properly.
Most musicians need both. A press kit needs a strong portrait, a few live shots that prove the band can hold a room, and enough variety to cover posters, streaming profiles and socials. We can plan that together so one shoot covers as much of it as possible.
I speak English, French and Dutch, which helps when a tour crosses borders.
Frequently Asked Questions

Music photography covers two different jobs. One is live: a band in the dark, three songs, no flash, no second chances. The other is planned, so press shots, promo images and cover artwork, where there is time and control. I do both. The skills barely overlap, which is why most photographers only do one.
