Breakfast in Peace | Baignade Interdite Limited Edition Print
On refusing to be servants and cooks.
Deedee (Diamond Dahlia) came for a shoot early on in the series. I wasn’t entirely happy with the results, especially after I started shooting with flash (easier than two bulky lights in a room full of water), so she came back for another breakfast.
The principle was the same: a toaster in the bath, eggs and bacon, and toast jumping out of the toaster. For that I used nature’s best and oldest trick: gravity. We have the same dark, cynical sense of humour. When I asked what random object she’d take to the bath, she replied “a toaster, of course”, and that’s where the idea came from.
Part of Baignade Interdite, a surrealist photography series shot entirely in a bathtub in North London by Pauline Di Silvestro.
Fine art A3 uncensored print. Limited edition of 5 copies only. £75.
Free UK shipping. EU shipping £10.
