Self-portrait, on having to hide my grief and suffocating in it to make others comfortable.
From the same self-portrait session as Nothing Is Real, inspired by a song I listened to with my Dad when I was little. I bathed in strawberries to represent my grief, the part of me you don’t see.
What do you do with 5kg of strawberries after a surrealist self-portrait shoot? I wasn’t about to let them go to waste just because I’d been sitting in them. I made 6 litres of jam, designed a label, and made vinegar with the tops so literally nothing got thrown away.
