On reflections and projections.
A fancy solo date in the bath, with lobster and champagne. Chanelle De Mai was the perfect person to start this project with: she came over in January 2026, and she is always up to test strange ideas. We kept the scene very simple and played with reflections and perspective.
The mirror is an object of reflection, as mirrors often are, and my hand looming over Chanelle represents the gaze placed upon her. As a professional dancer, she always has to be perfect in every way. It’s an immense weight on our shoulders. We are always on guard, as if there were a hand above us waiting to grab us the moment we stop watching.
